Jesse Lacey, the front-man of my all-time favorite band Brand New has been accused and admitted to sexual misconduct with a minor. To me this is saddening, but not shocking. I even remember joking about his leaked nudes from isanyoneup but it was never funny. It doesn’t matter if he was twenty, or if he’s now owned up and apologised. I’m struggling to separate the artist from the art.

I’m glad this is their last tour, I’m glad I got to love them for over fifteen years before this news got to me, I’m glad I saw them again only a few weeks ago and I’m glad I got to experience this year’s best album Science Fiction. But mostly, I’m fucking sad. All fucking men. #ripbrandnew.

UPDATE: Due to the events of the last few days, Brand New will be postponing it’s upcoming three shows in the United Kingdom and Ireland.
